How do I find an item on the website?

Use the search bar at the top of the screen and input a keyword, such as black, tote, handbag, Chanel, etc. You can also browse through the website and narrow the focus with the filters on the left side of the page.

What if an item is not available?

Check our site often as we post new items daily! You can also email specific item requests to us for entry into our system for reference. We’ll let you know if we receive what you’re seeking right away.

Is my information secure?

We take security very seriously and do not share private information with any parties. Our servers are secured with state-of-the-art software.

What if I receive a damaged item?

The condition of our merchandise is determined after careful inspection and reflects an honest appraisal of the state of the item. We provide high-resolution images on the website that can be enlarged for a thorough inspection. In exceptional circumstances and only after a thorough discussion by telephone, we may permit an item that may have been accidentally misrepresented to be returned.

What if I receive the wrong item?

If you receive the wrong item, please notify us immediately.

What sizes are available?

The sizes listed for some goods seem to use a different system than others.

Not all designers use the American system of sizing (0, 2, 4, 6, etc.). We carry a number of international brands that use one of several additional systems (French, Italian, English, etc.).

Condition Ratings

New / Never Been Worn -The item has never been used. It has no signs of wear and may be new with tags.

Excellent- The item is in impeccable condition with barely noticeable signs of use.

Good- The item has been used and very well taken care of. There are limited signs of wear that will be described in detail and photographed.

Fair-The item has been used with minor signs of wear. There may be slight patina or other imperfections. All will be described in detail and photographed.

Acceptance Conditions

Fashionista accepts items for consignment in new or like new conditions only. You must disclose the condition, any changes to original appearance, alterations, sizing, trim or hardware changes before the item is accepted. You confirm that all items have been professionally cleaned before Fashionista accepts the item.

Authenticity of Merchandise

Only original, authentic designer items are accepted by Fashionista for consignment. When you submit and items, you are stating that the items are authentic designer items and not counterfeit. Any label or trademark insignia, logo, design, authenticity information or embossing are authentic of the designer it represents to your full knowledge.

Consignment Period

Fashionista’s consignment period is 180 days from the date of acceptance. This date is indicated on the final report emailed to you for your records. Items must be in consignment for a minimum of 60 days from the date of acceptance. We reserve the right to return items at anytime during or prior to the expiration of the consignment period.

Pricing

Fashionista will determine price points for your merchandise based on current and historical resale values of similar style, condition and brand. If a specific minimum reserve price is required, you can state a requested price at the time the item submitted for consignment. If you request a minimum reserve price, the price will be in effect for the first 30 days of the consignment period. After the 30-day period has passed, the reserve price will be reduced incrementally at Fashionista’s discretion. The split percentage will not be affected by any reduction in pricing.

Pricing Adjustments

Pricing on items may be changed after the initial drop-off, this allows for adjustments to correct pricing errors determined by Fashionista management after review of mailed in items, or store drop-offs. Fashionista reserves the right to make these adjustments within a reasonable amount of time of acceptance without any consent from you prior to the price change.

Payments/Split Percentage

Fashionista will pay you 50% of the selling price (full, markdown or discounted) as noted in the pricing section for all consigned items excluding handbags. Handbags and items sold for more than $1,500 will be paid out at 60%. Payments are made after the 15th of the month for items sold the previous month. Checks are sent between the 15th and the end of the month. Checks will be mailed to you unless you arrange for an in-store pick-up. You may also leave the check as a store credit and continue shopping.

Consignment Returns

Please understand that your consignment items may be returned to you any time after the first 60 days of consignment. Your request needs to be emailed or received in writing for documentation. We will act quickly but returns may take up to thirty days to be completed. Consignment return shipping charges are your responsibility. Merchandise returns will not be processed in December, January, February or March.

Cleaning of Consignment Items

All items must be professionally cleaned by service prior to acceptance. Fashionista will attempt to identify any items that may need cleaning prior to accepting them for consignment so you may have the option to have the item cleaned through your own preferred cleaning service. However, if the item has been placed on consignment, Fashionista reserves the right to have the item cleaned by a third party professional garment cleaning service. Fashionista will then charge your account for the cleaning service without further consent. You will be responsible for the cleaning fee regardless if the item on consignment is sold or not. Items requiring special attention will be charged accordingly.

Fashionista flat fee cleaning charges:

Top/Shorts $7, Sweaters $10, Pants/Skirts $10, Jacket $10, Dresses $15, Suits $18, Gowns $30

Layaway

Fashionista offers layaway to its customers for a period of 30 or 60 days. Items that are on layaway cannot be picked up by you unless the layaway period has expired, and the customer has not completed their final layaway purchase. Your account will reflect the selling price split percentage when the layaway is completed. Your account will only reflect completed layaways. Defaults of layaways are not paid out you and the layaway item will be placed back as available status on your account.

Sales Returns

Fashionista accepts returns on items sold online from customers who are not satisfied with their purchase for any reason. Fashionista will also accept returns from any customer in store or on online that does not accept or believe that the item they purchased is an authentic designer item. Your account will be debited for all returns accepted under Fashionistas returns and exchanges policy. You agree to pay any balance for returns that may be charged to your account.

Any item returned due to an authenticity issue, claimed as counterfeit, or altered by the consignor and not initially disclosed, will also be responsible for the merchandise return amount and associated shipping charge amount deducted from your account.

Use of Merchandise

You authorize Fashionista the right to utilize any and all merchandise for photo, video, movie, television and other productions while we are in possession of your items.
